BBC America orders Canadian Sci-Fi drama Orphan Black

Deadline Hollywood reports that BBC America had picked up the Canadian series one week after Bell Media gave the go ahead to produce ten episodes of the series. It will be aired as part of the network’s ‘Supernatural Saturdays’ which airs on Saturday evenings.

The series tells the story of a street-wise chameleon who learns she is a clone. The series starts production in the fall, and will most likely air in early 2013.

U.K. Series”Misfits” coming to Logo

We all like super-heroes. Well the series “Misfits” shows us a new kind of super-hero. These teens are doing community service, when they are caught up in a storm that gives them super powers. It has been airing in the U.K. for years, but it’s only U.S. exposure was on the Hulu internet service. Until now.

The cable network LOGO has ordered the series, and it begins airing on July 19th at 10:00 pm Eastern.

NBC Finds it’s ‘Herman’ and ‘Lily’

And the actor cast as the lead of the pilot “1313 Mockingbird Lane” is… Jerry O’Connell. O’Connell, who formerly starred in the genre series “Sliders” has been cast as the Munster patriarch. He takes on the role of Herman Munster, played by the incomparable Fred Gwynne in the 1960s series, the Hollywood Reporter has reported.

The Lily Munster of the pilot has been selected as well. Mariana Klaveno has been cast, but may not be able to take the role. She is currently attached to the pilot “Devious Maids” which was not picked up by ABC, but is being shopped to the Lifetime cable network. She is not a regular, but would still need to be released before she can take the role of Lily.
